Notice: this information was written when Microthemer version 2 was current. On Dec 26th, 2014 version 3 was released with a completely new interface. Some of the information may be redundant, but as much of
the functionality remains the same in version 3 we haven't deleted this post.
When I go to manage themes, it says to select a theme and there are none there in the drop down to select. I have watched the first couple of videos and neither say what they did to get started. I might be missing a video, I don’t know.
Videos 4 and 5 deal with installing settings packs. There have been some terminology changes recently. Everything will be a lot clearer when I release version 3 (in about a month) which addresses all of these niggling issues.
When Microthemer refers to “themes” it’s talking about settings packs to aid in the customization of a particular theme or plugin. These will be renamed as “scaffolds” soon as that describes what they are better.
