Frequently Asked Questions

Microthemer / Amender FAQs

Will I lose my edits if I update my theme?

No. Your Microthemer styles and Amender content edits are safe when you update your parent or child theme. Neither plugin modifies theme or core WordPress files. All changes are non-destructive and fully reversible.

Can I uninstall Microthemer or Amender and still keep my changes?

Yes. You can deactivate or uninstall either plugin and still keep your edits by using the lightweight Microloader plugin. This serves your saved styles and content changes without needing the main plugin active.

To set this up, go to Preferences > Inactive in the plugin and download Microloader as a zip file that you can install via your WordPress Plugins > Add New screen. That way your edits continue to apply even if the main editor plugin is inactive.

Note: Plugin settings are not deleted when you uninstall by default. You can always reinstall later to continue editing.

What if I want uninstall AND delete everything?

Before uninstalling, go to Preferences > Inactive in the plugin and set "Upon Uninstall, Delete ALL plugin Data" to "Yes".

How can I see the code Microthemer or Amender generates?

In Microthemer, use View > Generated CSS & JS to see all the styles it creates. In Amender, use the Review Amends option below the controls to inspect the content and code changes being applied.

Do I need to know CSS or HTML to use Microthemer or Amender?

No coding knowledge is required. Both plugins are designed for beginners as well as experienced developers. You can point, click, and style or edit visually. That said, a little familiarity with HTML and CSS will help you get even more out of the tools.

Many users start with the visual controls and gradually learn how things work under the hood. Our Help menu and videos make that learning curve approachable.

What’s the difference between Microthemer and Amender?

Microthemer is a visual CSS editor. It excels at styling your site visually, supports SCSS editing, and includes a CSS-focused AI assistant.

Amender is for content and code customizations. It lets you edit text, HTML, and JavaScript directly, manage NPM packages, and use an AI assistant that can handle any type of page change, not just CSS.

Both share the same interface, both support responsive design and clean uninstallation, and both can be installed as add-ons for each other. You can start with either, and add the other later if you want the full toolkit.

Subscription FAQs

What if I don't want to renew?

No problem. You can cancel auto-renew at any time from our cancel page. Your subscription will stay valid until the expiry date shown (e.g. one month after your last payment).

What happens if my subscription expires?

Amender Yearly
You will continue to receive bug fixes and security updates, but new features released after your subscription expires will not be available until you renew.

Microthemer Monthly
The plugin will switch to "Free trial mode". You will still be able to use all the selectors and styles you created while subscribed, but new edits will be limited to 15 selectors per site. If you want to make further changes, you can simply reactivate your subscription for as little as one month.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. We provide a no-fuss, 30-day money-back guarantee for both Microthemer and Amender. If the plugin isn't right for your needs, just let us know within 30 days and we'll issue a refund.

Are site licenses transferable between domains?

No, licenses are fixed to the domains you register. They can’t be rotated between different sites.

Why? Because your edits can remain active even after uninstalling the plugin if you use our lightweight Microloader plugin to serve the assets. This improves security, boosts performance, and prevents clients from making accidental breaking changes. It also means our licensing works a little differently to many WordPress products.

Staging domains: If you register a temporary dev/staging site, we can remove it from your quota once the site goes live. Just send us a quick message via our contact form.

What payment methods do you accept?

We support Stripe and PayPal. Between them, you can pay with credit/debit card, Google Pay, and other regional payment options.

Do you provide support?

Yes. We provide documentation and maintain an active support forum where you can ask questions any time. We’re here to help you get the most out of the plugins.
