Use a Wordpress scaled version of an image?

The first thing I tried to accomplish with this plugin was setting different sized background image sources for an element, depending on the breakpoint. When using the GUI to select the image from the library, the size option is ignored and only the original full size image URL is used. It would be awesome if you could select scaled sizes when setting an image source…
