Changing h2 to h3, etc….

Hi all,

Been away from editing for a long time & just refreshing…

Sorry if this is a silly questions – how can I change something like an h2 to an h3?

I thought I could do it somewhere with a “simple click” but I can’t find it, and the code editor lets me change the code, but it has no effect on the content. Once I click off the content and back on, it reverts to h2 anyway.

thanks!

Hey Andrew,

Welcome back!

Microthemer isn’t a tool for editing HTML content, only styling it. So you would need to make the change in Gutenberg, or whatever page builder you use. You can of course change the font-size/family etc of the h2 to make it match that of h3’s on your site.

I don’t fully understand what you meant by clicking on and off the H2 and it reverting? Are you doing this in MT (which shouldn’t change the tag type anyway)?

Cheers,
Sebastian

Hi again Sebastian!

Thanks – I think that explains it. FYI I’m using Elementor at the moment.

I assumed “code editor” would let us freely edit code, including changing an h2 to h3; it appears to let us type that into the editor, but it isn’t “sticky” once you click off the tagged content, then back onto it again.

Ah, if your custom code styles aren’t showing up in the editor once you click back on the element, something might be up. This quick video shows what should happen. If you’re experiencing different behaviour, I would be happy to troubleshoot your site. Please send temporary access details via our secure contact form.

Or did I misunderstand?

It wasn’t custom code styles, just trying to replace h3 with h2.

Was trying to get all my headings uniform before formatting further!

cheers

OK, so this is an issue making the content change in Elementor – when Elementor is loaded inside Microthemer? Or just using Elementor normally?

andrew111

I was thinking that from within Microthemer, I could change the content, such as changing h3 to h2, and once back in Elementor, the content would be h2.

It’s easy enough to do this within Elementor, though a little more time consuming maybe.

Sebastian

I see. And to confirm, you can’t make HTML changes with Microthemer. But, you can load Elementor inside Microthemer via:

Settings > Integrations > Enable Elementor

And that can be quicker than switching back and forth.

Cheers,
Sebastian
