Plugin Packs? [some appear to be missing – RESOLVED]

Notice: this information was written when Microthemer version 2 was current. On Dec 26th, 2014 version 3 was released with a completely new interface. Some of the information may be redundant, but as much of the functionality remains the same in version 3 we haven't deleted this post.

I was looking at Microthemer a while back and there were a bunch of plugin packs available for CF7…I think like 8 or 10 just for that plugin alone. And there may have been some others too I’m forgetting about for other plugins. I just bought the developer license of the plugin and was going to download all the resources to play around with and now I only see 3 plugin packs in total and only 1 for CF7. What happened?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for reporting this! I recently updated all of the Contact Form 7 plugins. When I uploaded the replacements I hadn’t realised that it would unpublish the to-be-replaced packs (even though I coded this functionality myself lol). However, I have now published the updated replacements so you should be good to go!

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Cheers,

Sebastian

Thank Sebastian. Yep, I see them all now and snagged them already. Looking forward to playing around with the plugin in my spare time (haha what’s that?) over the next week or 2. I’m planning to make it part of my regular development flow.

Good to know. If you’re using Microthemer a lot you should enjoy version 3 when it comes out in a month or two 🙂

Robert1966

Do tell! What are the features of version 3? have you announced that yet?

Sebastian

The main improvement will be the appearance of the interface, with things laid out in a much more intuitive way. Microthemer evolved over time and things haven’t always been bolted on in the most elegant way. The design experience can do with some improvement. I’ve teamed up with a UX specialist to make a much better UI.

The main new feature will be reporting on existing computed CSS styles. So you can see that an element has, for instance, a bottom margin of 30px. You can then increase or decrease it from this point with less trial and error. In essence, Microthemer will be used as an inspector as well as a design tool without having to use firebug. Many people have compared Microthemer to firebug but we haven’t sold it on that basis. With this new feature the association will be more justified.

If version 3 takes us much longer than a month we may release the CSS inspection feature as a 2.x update. So either way it’s coming soon 🙂

Cheers,

Sebastian

ps in general, better support for custom fonts, uploading images from the UI page, and editing media queries from the UI page are priority features that will be released as version 3.x updates.
